3 ways to purchase dance attire:

 ·        Go to nearby dance attire store such as The Leotard, Dee’s Dance Design, or Dance Togs, and purchase clothing there.
·        Order through a dance attire magazine such as Curtain Call for Class, Dance Distributors, or Discount Dance.
·        If you order online at www.discountdance.com, you can click on “4 Teachers” in the uppermost right-hand corner. Then on the left top on the next page there is a box where you enter your teacher’s ID #.  That number is:  14844.  You will then see suggested leotards and skirts for each of the classes this year.

Following are stores where dancewear may be purchased:
The Leotard at the Lloyd Center Mall (www.theleotard.com) (503) 284-9244
Dance Togs in Beaverton (503) 644-7545
Dee's Dance Design (www.deesdancedesign.com) in Milwaukie (503) 652-0475
Dance Distributors (www.dancedistributors.com)
Discount Dance (www.discountdance.com)
Curtain Call for Class (www.curtaincallforclass.com)
Target, Fred, Meyer, Nordstrom's and Wal-Mart (children's leotards only)

Hair

The following hair dress codes are required for class. Please do not send children into class without observing them.

3-9 Year-Olds: Ballet buns are preferable, but if hair is too short, please pull it away from face and neck in a ponytail.

Grades 1B-V: Wear hair neatly in a ballet bun, whispies sprayed down, bangs gelled or clipped back from face.
CANCELLATION DAYS
During the course of the year there are days when class may be canceled due to circumstances beyond our control. You are responsible to check our website or call the director for weather/dangerous travel cancellations. We usually follow the Clackamas School District's decision on cancellations. We will not be calling you, so please take note of this.
PARENT OBSERVATION DAYS
We realize how important it is for our parents to see the hard work their children are doing in class. In order to accommodate this and keep class productivity up, we have an observation day on the last class day of the month. During other class times, you may watch through the window of the classroom. As always, exceptions are made if a student is having difficulty being in the studio room without mother's care.

PREPARING FOR CLASS
1. Make sure you go to the bathroom before class!!! (esp. the little ones)
2. Please arrive 5 minutes early for your class. Please do not enter the classroom or leave your child unattended until your class starts!
ETIQUETTE
Ballet class can be a lot of fun, but being an attentive student is a must! When coming to class it is very important that a student is ready to focus and pay attention.
1. No hanging on barres in the studio.
2. No food, drink or chewing gum in class.
3. No socializing during class. This means NO TALKING without raising hand.
4. No arguing with the instructor about class work. Negative attitudes affect the entire class.
5. Family and friends: DO NOT INTERRUPT CLASS. Our teachers are instructed to continue teaching when parents stick their heads in the door to tell them something. Interruptions interfere with the training of students. Please call your instructor instead.

We are very thankful to be able to conduct our classes at East Side Athletic Club. In order to continue to have good relationships with the club, we ask that you keep your children off the equipment — this is very important. Also, please be quiet when going to and coming from the classroom. Thank you.

ABSENCES & CLASS
MAKE-UPS

1. Call the teacher a day in advance to inform her that the student will not be present.
2. Make-up classes are available at either of our studios. Check the schedule for times.
3. No refunds. No credit given for missed classes. Classes are to be made up in the same term.

**As we approach our performance, it is essential that students make it to all classes! If one student is missing, it can throw off all the others in their dance. So please be considerate and attend all classes especially at this time. Thank you!

UPPER SCHOOL NOTES

Students may wear warm-ups and t-shirts for the first two exercises of each class. After that we ask that they wear only leotards.
